(Arcadia) – Crescenta Valley outscored Arcadia 20-9 in the first quarter, opened up a 20-point lead in the third quarter and cruised to a 66-46 win over the Apaches Friday night in Pacific League action.

The Falcons did it with a balanced attack as they had five players in double figures in a motion offense that gave Arcadia fits.

Armen Yetenekian scored eight points in the first quarter and Sebastian Tahmasian added five as the Falcons opened the 11-point advantage.

They increased it to 17 in the second as Tahmasian tossed in six more points including another three and Mikail Grigoryan hit for seven and also buried one from long distance.

A 39-22 halftime lead seemed a steep hill for the Apaches to climb. Arcadia did hold Crescenta Valley to 12 points in the third quarter but only managed 12 themselves and were unable to shave anything off the double digit deficit.

The Falcons actually increased the margin to 20 at 45-25 early in the third. The fourth quarter was just a matter of running their offense and eventually running out the clock for CV.

Alex Altounian, who had 12 points in the second half, led the Falcons in scoring with 15. Tahmasian had 14, Grigoyan had 13 and Yetenekian and Julius Washington each added 10. Washington rained in two three long pointers.

For Arcadia Lavon Domino did the bulk of the scoring with a game high 21 as he muscled his way inside. Sky Clay (cool name) finished with 13. No other Apache was in double figures.

With the victory the Falcons improved to 18-3 overall and 7-1 in the Pacific. They were tied with Pasadena coming into Friday night’s action. The Apaches fell to 13-7 and 5-3 in league.
