@ RAMS FAN: No one has been able to do Moneyball the way General Manager Billy Bean did for Oakland in the late ’90’s and early 2000’s. Bean made that wonderful combination of data analytical skill and limited financial resources work for the A’s. (He had a lot of help from Paul DiPodesta, who was a bust with the Dodgers, but DiPodesta had the misfortune of working with the inept and ethically-challenged McCourt family when he was in L.A.)
Theo Epstein (Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs) and Andrew Friedman (Tampa Bay Rays and L.A. Dodgers) are also highly-skilled purveyors of the analytical craft, but they’ve been given much bigger bankrolls. That’s sort of like cheating.

    7. Better start putting a team that can win some games on the field or it’ll be a waste of a billion dollars. What ever happened to money ball?
