  2. The Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics 123-116 Wednesday night in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. 
  3. Former Monrovia/Covina running back Ge’Vontray Ainsworth passed away Wednesday. 
  4. Bryce James,15, the youngest son of LeBron James, has transferred from Sierra Canyon to Campbell Hall. 
  5. The Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman hit his 300th career home run, a grand slam, in a 16-8 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday night. 
  6. The Pittsburgh Steelers are finalizing a two-year extension with backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky. 
  7. Dylan Ochoa and Eric Jimenez will compete for the starting quarterback position at Northview. 
  8. The West Covina Linemen Competition and the SGV Shootout at Arroyo are both on Saturday June 24.
  9. Former MLB outfielder/ Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson turned 77 yesterday, May 18.
