  2. Reyes Moronta, who pitched for the Dodgers and Angels, was killed in a car accident Sunday at the age of 31.
  3. The Philadelphia Phillies acquired closer Carlos Estevez from the Angels for two top pitching prospects.
  4. The Dodgers beat the Houston Astros 6-2 Sunday to salvage one win in the three-game series. 
  5. Damien Offensive lineman Julian Trujillo, 6’3″, 285, has transferred to Colony. 
  6. The Miami Dolphins signed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a four-year, $212 million extension. 
  7. The Green Bay Packers signed quarterback Jordan Love to a four-year, $220 million extension. 
  8. Gymnast Simone Biles posted a top score in the all-around to lead the U.S in qualifying.
  9. Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and is out for the season. 
  10. The Chargers will open the preseason Saturday August 10 against the Seattle Seahawks at SoFi Stadium at 4:05 p.m.
