(Pasadena) – Muir defensive end/ edge rusher Cole Cogshell officially signed his letter of intent with UCLA Wednesday at Muir High School.
This past year Cogshell had 22 solo tackles and 61 assisted for a total of 83. He also had 9 sacks. Cogshell originally committed to BYU and had 16 offers overall before eventually choosing UCLA.
“It’s the school I wanted to go to my whole life,” Cogshell said.
Cogshell just completed a season in which he helped lead the Mustangs to the Pacific League title with a record of 7-0 and into the second round of the CIF Division 6 playoffs where they fell 28-27 to St. Francis. Now Cogshell will stay close to home and take his talents to the nearby Rose Bowl and suit up for UCLA.
I’m a Trojan guy, but I have to tip my hat to the Bruins for landing a SoCal kid, which is what USC has done very little of lately. Best personal wishes to Cole in this big move.
