St John Bosco (the man) established his school with the express intent of helping the poor. I guess Negro’s “anonymous donors” didn’t question the cash-only policy, and they apparently felt no need for a receipt to use at tax time. Saints all around.
Been happening since day one with Negro at Bosco. He recruited my son out of 8th grade. He told us to apply for financial aid…though we certainly did not qualify for it. Negro explained all the names on his football list would receive money first…regardless of need…and those families who truly needed the financial assistance went to the bottom of the list.
CIF is all in for cash. Check out how you can’t buy a ticket to any game anymore at the walk up window. Plus they get a cut from the fees to just buy a ticket. CIF will protect SJB, MD and big time programs. Money rules. You better KNOW CIF gets its taste from guys like Del Negro.
The crux of this Bosco complaint is that Negro was running a high-dollar, cash-only football empire. Many players’ tuitions and all of the coaching staff’s expenditures were said to have been funded from money stashed in Negro’s safe. Three high-ranking school officials were apparently fired when they blew the whistle on this situation. The case is huge, because it could establish a precedent for other programs to be scrutinized for similar money issues.
