(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”

  1. The Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-95 Saturday night in Game 1 on their Western Conference playoff series. The Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets 112-110 in overtime Saturday in Game1 of their series. 
  2. The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Memphis Grizzlies 131-80 in Game 1 of their Western Conference playoff series. 
  3. El Rancho quarterback Ryan Dominguez announced his commitment to Whittier College. 
  4. Alemany quarterback Valentino May has transferred to Baldwin Park Braves head coach Robert Maxie confirmed. 
  5. The Dodgers beat Texas 1-0 Sunday and took two out of three from the Rangers in the series. 
  6. The Cincinnati Reds beat the Baltimore Orioles 24-2 Sunday. 
  7. Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart decided he will not attend the NFL draft which begins Thursday in Green Bay. 
  8. Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood, the nation’s top-rated high school football recruit, completed 12 of 26 for 187 yards Saturday in Michigan’s spring game. 
  9. Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback/ current CBS announcer Tony Romo turns 45 today. 
  10. On this date in 2001 the Atlanta Falcons selected Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick with the number one overall pick in the NFL draft.

    It begins to look like the novelty of having Lebron play on the Lakers with his son wasn’t necessarily the best roster move. Instead of abandoning the nepotism thing, however, perhaps the Lakers need to find other really old NBA jocks who will leverage their veteran status to get their family and friends a place on the team. In other words, use the novelty of having extended families on contract to sell tickets.
