Whittier Wears Down Rams

(Temple City) – Whittier overcame an early deficit and outscored Temple City by 16 over the final three quarters to beat the Rams 62-52 Friday night in the first round of the CIF Division 2A Playoffs.

Lady Lions Season Ends

(El Monte) – The El Monte girls led at halftime and were still within a point heading into the fourth quarter. But the Lady Lions couldn’t keep up in the final frame and fell to Calabasas 58-47 Thursday night in the first round of the CIF Division 3AA Playoffs.

San Dimas Slides By South, 68-66

(South El Monte) – San Dimas let all of a 20 point lead get away but recovered in the fourth quarter to hold off South El Monte 68-66 Wednesday night in the first round of the CIF Division 3A playoffs.

(San Gabriel ) – Eli Peters scored 28 points and Bryan Phan added 19 to lead Gabrielino to a 61-45 win over South El Monte Friday night and complete a perfect 10-0 run in the Mission Valley League.

(Glendora) – Azusa Pacific had five players in double figures and it proved to be more than enough in an 85-69 win over BYU-Hawaii Thursday night at the Felix Events Center.

(El Monte) – Arroyo head coach Jim Singiser was approached by Monrovia and asked to interview for the head coach position but has declined he confirmed today.

Crusaders Clinch, 47-45

(Pasadena) – Village Christian missed six free throws in the fourth quarter and made only three field goals in the final frame but still managed to escape with a 47-45 win over Maranatha Tuesday night on the Minutemen home floor.
