Knight Train Keeps Rolling
(El Monte) – Mark Roche belted a three run home run and Tony Davalos threw a complete game to lead Arroyo to a 4-2 win over host Mountain View Friday.
High School Baseball Area Top 25
The real winner this week was the rain as it wreaked havoc on the schedule all week. Nearly all of Friday’s games were called due to damage that the storms did to the playing fields. There were a few changes however with a couple of surprises early in the week.

All Arroyo in MVL Opener
(El Monte) – Tony Davalos fired a complete game two hitter and struck out five to lead Arroyo to an 11-0 shut out over South El Monte Friday in the Mission Valley League opener.
Wilson Update: Burt in as Head Coach
(Hacienda Heights) – Bob Burt was introduced on campus Wednesday as the new Head Coach at Wilson sources say. Burt, 69, whose last stop was at Riverside Notre Dame, has over 44 years of coaching experience which included a nine year stint as the Head Coach at Cal State Northridge.
