Interesting week for the Original Old School Top 12 which covers the original 12 teams covered by Mid Valley Sports. As usual things shook out as expected. Mountain View definitely didn’t let me down this week getting its first win against South El Monte which should be nice momentum boost. Temple City got its second straight league win inching closer to locking up second in the Rio Hondo.Let’s face it, Monrovia is far and away the class of the league and probably the area. And I would look to point out that Andy Villanueva and company were completely wrong about Arcadia losing to Burbank.

.) Monrovia (5-2) – You have to feel for San Marino after the recent knocks it’s taken but hand it to the Wildcats, in two weeks the combined scoring is impressive, 113 points scored, zero surrendered.

.) Arroyo (6-1) – Mikey Vasquez keeps churning out good numbers in big games, this one coming against league rival Rosemead.

.) Arcadia (4-3) – The Apaches keep delivering when some say their opponent is superior, next week they face a team in Hoover that’s struggling to score points.

.) Rosemead (4-3) – The Panthers are going to look at the film and see a lot of missed opportunities in the loss to Arroyo. Running the table the rest of the way looks likely for a second spot in MVL.

.) Alhambra (4-3) – The Moors won’t face too many defenses like Schurr but to win you need to move the ball more than 178-yards.

.) Temple City (3-4) – The Rams pulled off another minor upset against La Canada and it’s looking more and more like a 4-1 league record will come to fruition.

a.) El Monte (3-4) – Lions get a nice comeback win over Gabrielino but the fact that they had to come back is a bit surprising.

b.) Mountain View (4-3) – The South El Monte win is huge, winning against Rosemead will be infinitely more impressive.

.) San Gabriel (3-4) – Matadors have a tough last three games with Bell Gardens, Alhambra and Schurr making the Montebello loss all the more crucial.

.) Gabrielino (3-4) – Gabby let one slip away and have Arroyo coming to town.

.) South El Monte (1-6) – The Eagles are struggling to find their foothold and it may be time to write this season off.

.) Duarte (0-6) – Six points scored, 227 allowed. Atrocious football being played by the Falcons.
