“I have no idea what they’re going to do next,” said an opposing head coach to his staff after being in hit with a Lancers offensive strike.
Southeast champion Downey averaged 30 points a game, La Serna and La Mirada both averaged 36, but Ceniceros’ Norwalk squad put 44 points on the board per game with its double-wing offense.
With all the film and everyone knowing what the Lancers were going to do they were still able to manage 373 yards on the ground per game. Rashaad Penny and his friends crashed the end zone 62 times via the rush.
Ceniceros is so good preaching the Gospel of the Double Wing, other head coaches call him for tips on his offense.
“Truth is,” said one local coach. “If you’re not running some form of the spread, you’re running the double wing.”
