Muir's Jarron Williams, a Mid Valley favorite, knows his Mustangs need two wins to reach CIF this year.

Good Afternoon!

This football season has gone by way too fast…It’s November and the weather feels like April.

I’ve been ripped off.

Of course before all is said and done I’m sure there will be a trip to frigid Paraclete. (After a bye week, they go to Valley Christian on November 13 to settle the Olympic)

Then again when your fantasy football team is on top, you’re on top…Well I’m not exactly on top but I’ve won two of my last three…

Suddenly I’m a Braylon Edwards fan… Did you see the way he muscled into the end zone against the Dolphins on Sunday?

Charter Oak senior Kyle Brown went 7 of 11 for 155-yards Friday night against Wilson, throwing two touchdown passes in his first start at quarterback…Good for him…

Wow! Reggie Bush is having a heck of an impact in New Orleans.

Is it a contract year? The Clippers Chris Kaman is playing like it is.

Its nice to see the Cavaliers getting nine points, seven boards, and 16% accuracy from the foul line for the millions they are paying Shaq.

Surprises of the prep football season?

No one foresaw Azusa repeating in the Montview in such a dominate way… I also believe Dan Yoder has stunned folks with La Canada’s success…Most Spartan watchers thought it would take another year for serious playoff contention.

One more thing on La Canada, no one is making excuses, but remember the LC program was seriously affected by the fires at the end of August and early September.

Try Pasadena on for size. The Bulldogs are 3-2 in the Pacific and playing better by the day. This week they get a Burbank team, a little banged up, and potentially, just potentially, eyeballing a week ten armageddon with Burroughs.

“We are not overlooking Pasadena,” B-Bank HC Hector Valencia said. “They’re a good football team.”

Barring a Muir loss to Glendale, the Turkey Tussle will decide the fourth playoff spot in the Pacific.

Of course Cal in the maddening Del Rio has been a surprise. El Rancho’s promising season is on the ropes this week against La Serna.

Finally, I spoke about them yesterday, the team we wrote off a little too early, San Gabriel. I think the Matadors suffer because we see them, and the rest of the Almont, through the prism of the Southeast Division…I think it causes you stop thinking about them in the long term.

On this date in 2006 Temple City went to Monrovia and beat the Wildcats 41-24 in one of the biggest and best Mid Valley games this decade.

We’ve covered it before but Dwight Broadnax ran for 315-yards and TC rushed for 421-yards total in the win.

On this date in 1989 Rosemead’s John Vigil ran for a 109-yards on 21-carries and four touchdowns in the Panthers 62-0 victory over Keppel…and at La Canada the Spartans scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and made them stand in a 14-0 victory over Monrovia. LC quarterback John Chambliss threw 37-yards to Jeremy Finder for the first score, and Paul Traughber rushed (16-114-yards) 61-yards for the other.

On this date in 1972 Rick Brown rushed for three touchdowns and quarterback Bob Callas threw touchdown passes to Mike Nanko and Roger Brooks in Temple City’s 42-0 victory at Bell Gardens. The victory was TC’s 37th straight.

Currently planning vacation for next summer, is there some government money available for me?

Stay thirsty my friends…
