All games are at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated

Friday October 10

Angelus League

St. Francis (5-0) at Harvard Westlake (4-1)

Westlake will be a test for St. Francis but the Golden Knights will pass the exam. With the tough schedule they have played they’ll be fine. St. Franks gets it done.

St. Francis 31 Harvard Westlake 17

Cathedral (5-0) at Salesian (2-3)

Salesian has been Jekyl and Hyde. Who shows up this week? Cathedral has absolutely rolled its last three opponents. Phantoms win.

Cathedral 28 Salesian 21

Del Rio League

La Serna (4-1) at El Rancho (3-2)

El Rancho could be a playoff team but La Serna is a Final Four team. Lancers will run the Del Rio.

La Serna 35 El Rancho 14

Santa Fe (1-4) at California (3-2)

Good matchup. At some point Santa Fe should step up – just not sure when. Cal wins it close.

California 27 Santa Fe 20

Pacific League

Burbank (3-2) at Muir (2-3)

Muir has flexed its muscle now that league play has begun. Burbank won’t be able to keep up.

Muir 34 Burbank 17

San Gabriel Valley League

Paramount (3-2) at Dominguez (3-2)

A win here for either team will go a long way towards playoff hopes. Dominguez is more explosive. Might be a shootout.

Dominguez 31 Paramount 28

Downey (2-3) at Lynwood (5-0)

We’ll find out a lot about undefeated Lynwood. Will Downey establish itself as “the team” in the SGV League right out of the gate? My guess is yes.

Downey 24 Lynwood 21

Suburban League

Mayfair (2-4) at Bellflower (5-1)

Bellflower got blasted by La Mirada but the Matadores do that to a lot of teams. Bucs should still be third best in Suburban. Demetrius Reed!

Bellflower 38 Mayfair 24
