(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)

1.  Ohio State received all 61 first place votes in the AP college football poll becoming the first ever unanimous preseason number one.

2.  Robbie Keane scored twice and came close on a couple other attempts in the Galaxy’s 5-1 route of New York FC.

3.  The Rams dropped their second preseason game to the Tennessee Titans 27-14.

4.  The Dodgers’ 3-2 loss to Houston was their fifth straight loss but they remain a game and a half up on San Francisco.

5.  Green Bay Packers lost Jordy Nelson for the season to a knee injury in the Packers 24-19 preseason loss to Pittsburgh.

6.  Cal Ripken Jr., Reggie Miller and Anze Kopitar share birthdays today.  Ripken (55), Miller (50) and Kopitar (28).

7.  The Angels lost three straight to Toronto and are now five and a half games behind Houston.

8.  On this day in 1991 Taiwan won its 15th Little League World Series title.

9.  The APU Cougar football team will have an intra-squad scrimmage today at 6:00 pm at Citrus College.

10.  “I have been retired for the last two years, but you never know,” said Moss, who hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012. “But it’s the love of the game that I still have inside of me.” Randy Moss’ thoughts on coming out of retirement.
