The Galaxy had 3 total shots compared to 7 for Tijuana in the first half. Only Tijuana was credited with a shot on goal.

Oscar Sorto made a big play in front of the Galaxy net in the second half kicking away an attempt by Tijuana that could have broke the scoreless tie. Sorto came in for Cole in the 58th minute. Van Damme exited for Dan Gargan in the 58th minute.

The Galaxy finally got their first shot on goal in the 69th minute when Emmanuel Boateng’s shot was saved by Tijuana keeper Federico Vilar.

Gyasi Zardes had a rush up the right side but was denied by Vilar who came out to meet him. A minute later Raul Mendiola missed an opportunity when he booted one high over the head of Vilar and over the crossbar.

Jose Villarreal had a free kick for the Galaxy in the 90th minute but that sailed high. Two minutes of additional time was added but neither side pushed anything across and they were fit to be tied.
