(Rosemead) – Rosemead, trailing 2-1 in the sixth inning, put up four runs in its bottom half of the frame and went on to beat El Monte 5-2 Wednesday.

The Panthers evened its season and MVL mark to 1-1, while the Lions fell to 0-2. Joshua Chaidez went the distance and allowed just three hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out three and walking one.

Joshua Nava put the Panthers ahead 3-2 with an RBI single before Chaidez aided his own cause with an RBI single and reached again on a later error to force in another run and round out the scoring balance.

Angel Lopez got Rosemead going early with an RBI double, and Dominic Rangel, Nathan Aguilar, and Nicholas Higareda all went two for three at bat to cap Rosemead’s nine hit tally.
