1. BYU beats Wyoming 24-21 in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego.

2. Duke’s Grayson Allen is hit with a technical foul for intentionally tripping a player. He was then benched by head coach Mike Krzyzewski. It’s the third time in the last year that Allen has tripped an opposing player.

3. Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald and punter Johnny Hekker are selected to the Pro Bowl.

4. Chino Hills, led by the Ball brothers, LiAngelo and LaMelo, wins the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.

5. Former West Covina/Diamond Bar star Antonio “Noodles” Hull just finished his sophomore year in the Poinsettia Bowl as a cornerback for Wyoming.

6. Quentin Snider scores 23 points to lead Louisville to a 73-70 win over Kentucky Wednesday night.

7.  “Los Altos should go after Jim Singiser, why settle for Gallardo?” MVS Commenter “Anonymous”.

8. Happy Birthday to former Dodger first baseman Steve Garvey who turns 68 today.

9. On this day in 1956 Bill Russell made his first appearance for the Boston Celtics. Russell’s long anticipated debut had been delayed by his performing with the U.S Olympic Basketball team which won the Gold medal in Melbourne. Russell went on to win five MVP awards and led the Celtics to 11 NBA championships.

    What’s with the all league football teams not being announced yet? Only Prep League has announced theirs that I could find.
