Williams Takes Over at Monrovia

By Tim Peterson

(Monrovia) – Chris Williams, who was most recently the offensive coordinator at Northview, was officially named the head coach at Monrovia the school announced.

Williams also had a stint as the head coach at Baldwin Park before becoming the OC at Northview. At Northview he was instrumental in the development of quarterback Steven Comstock who recently committed to Fresno State.

For Monrovia AD Randy Bell Williams it was a clear cut choice.

“He is articulate, even keeled and seems devoted to working with (and building up) high school aged kids. He has good experience, gaudy offensive numbers, but bottom line he had a combination of smarts and confidence that impressed us,” Bell said.

“I’m excited to be at a program like Monrovia,” Williams said.

Coach had a chance for a fresh start. But instead of bringing in a new staff, they bring back some of the cancer that has been killing the program at Monrovia. There may not be very many critics, but the internal criticism is what’s detrimental. Good luck coach wish you all the best you’ll need it. Sad because their is some talent left in Monrovia, hopefully no more of them jump over to Arcadia.

Funny how we got all these offensive Gurus but no rings. The guys who stay low key and go about their business, usually do so because they have the championships and don’t need to hype themselves up.

Williams will do well at Monrovia. If there NO Critics, there is NO Criticizing.
Rovia! When were the last time you WON a game and where is your ring ? By the
way. Anyone with Common Sense knows that Northview were no match for Charter Oaks.
