1. Dodger third baseman Justin Turner fractured his left wrist when he was hit by a pitch Monday night. Surgery is not required but he still is expected to be out until May.

2. Oklahoma freshman guard Trae Young declares for the NBA draft.

3. Penny Hardaway is introduced as the new head coach at the University of Memphis, his alma mater.

4. Kansas in the Midwest and Villanova in the East are the only number one seeds still alive in the NCAA Tournament.

5. Former Alhambra DC/ long time area assistant Jacob Ochoa has joined the staff at Rancho Cucamonga to coach defensive backs.

6. USC was knocked out of the second round of the NIT Tournament by Western Kentucky Monday night at Galen Center.

7. The LA Clippers are currently ninth in the Western Conference at 37-32. The Lakers are 11th at 31-39.

8. On this day in 1978 the San Diego Padres fired manager Alvin Dark – only the second manager ever to be fired in spring training.

9. Former Oklahoma/current Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson turns 33 today.

10. “I’m having to answer too many questions so I decided to just head off the rumors. I’m not resigning from Arroyo FB & I feel fine. But I am having surgery on Monday and will miss some work.
