El Rancho will host a linemen competition Saturday June 23. Here’s the details:

Entry: 150.00 (100.00 for teams in our passing tourney)

Bench Press
15 yd. Pro Agility
8 man 880
5 man Sled Drive
Tractor Tire Flip relay
Car Tire Throw
Wheelbarrow Relay
Obstacle Course
40 yd. Truck Push
Tug-o-War
Team Awards for Champions of each event.
Individual Award for each event (if possible)
Team MVP bag for each team
Awards for Top 5 Teams Overall

Los Altos held one in 2016, where after all the physical events (each had a champion), the overall contest winner came down to an eating contest. Where many seed the teams and end with tug-of-war, this contest had a hot-dog eating portion with all teams, then the top 4 when to watermelon, with the finalists scooping down ice cream as fast as possible to be declared the lineman comp champs…it was awesome!
These hog-centric events need to include some type of speed-eating competition; that goes hand in hand with the lineman’s daily routine.
