Glendora Wraps up Palomares

Xzavier Ford scored twice for the victorious Tartans.

(Glendora) – Xzavier Ford scored twice on the ground to lead Glendora to a 28-7 win over Bonita Thursday night at Citrus College. With the victory Glendora wrapped up the Palomares League title.

Bonita, down 21-0, scored it’s only touchdown of the night on a 30-yard pass from J.P. Andrade to Aalias Williams late in the second quarter.

The Tartans shut down Bonita the rest of the way. Glendora’s Jacob Gonzalez hooked up with Cade Marshman for a 63-yard touchdown strike to extend the lead to 28-7 in the third quarter.

Glendora finished the regular season 9-1 overall and 5-0 in league while Bonita went 8-2 (7-3 with forfeit loss). Both teams will now wait until Sunday to find out their first round playoff opponents. Glendora is in Division 5 and the Bearcats reside in Division 10.

    Man, the Glendora defense came to play, came to hit, came to punish, and evidently had tons of fun doing so.

    This was a game of great tackling by both teams. However, Bonita “unravelled.” They failed miserably to keep their poise.
