@ sports man: You’ve got that right. Harvard and Yale would have been more plausible destinations for an “athlete” who was being recruited for a rowing team.

Ever been on the USD campus. Beautiful small school. In La Jolla beach. It’s a four star resort.

The Hollywood Actress, I think it was her, chose USC’s Crew Team. USC has no crew team. What a dumb feces

@ Zereroes: Maybe some of these students wanted to enroll at the University of San Diego so they could study its beautiful Byzantine architecture up close. And, the school is also located in “America’s Finest City.”

Although a number of other universities are also involved in the breaking college admissions scandal, it is yet another one in which the University of Southern California prominently figures.
At least one USC admissions official was allegedly involved, as were members of the school’s athletic department.
I think the new president of USC probably deserves a break due to the fact that she is new. The admissions scam had apparently been going on since 2011, so almost all of it on USC’s end occurred during the tenure of ousted president Max Nikias.
However, I believe the revelations of more wrongdoing in the athletic department might cost Athletic Director Lynn Swann his last chance to turn things around there.
Now, a key question will be what, if anything, does Mr. Swann know about the activities of the admissions scammers in his department and on the university campus?

Ivy’s and high rated institutions of learning are more a business than a school. With billions in endowments the wealthy alumnus kids get 1st priority, 2nd the wealthy buy your way in, 3rd, wealthy foreign students,4th, children who are friends of the deans and president. 5th, faculty children, 6th, high SAT scores (GPA does not matter), 7th, politicians kids, 8th, celebrities kids, 9th,student athletes from private schools, 10th, everyone else. With an application fee of 100$ they make out like bandits on that alone. 1000 applicants 100,000$ dollars. And they rip those things up like confetti.

I’m not surprised that any school would be compromised, but I’m amazed that someone thought it worthwhile to spend all that money to cheat into USD.

What a revelation to learn that a scandal at USC is the defining issue of our times. Compared to this, the bankers, lawyers and politicians are squeaky-clean, deserving of our highest respect.

Since you guys are $C homers and brag about your “privileged” field passes to the trash stadium that is the coliseum on game days, it is completely embarrassing and a total joke that there is not even a blurb about the scandal on your site even though you cover their home games. Speaking to you Peterson directly!!!
$C is a complete joke of an athletic program and is currently a dumpster fire.

I wonder how many doctors from USC have paid for degrees. My dentist is a USC grad and all he is good for is double billing me and my insurance. I go to TJ now.

@SoCal. I’m guessing that you did not major in English. And really, a win against UCLA would forget about such mishaps as an on-campus doctor raping students?

I’m guessing St. Mary’s was inspired by one of its former players, 2-time Academy award winner Mahershala Ali, recent winner for best supporting actor in Green Book. Ali is the only Oscar winner to have ever scored a basket in division one ball.

USC can not do anything right. Admission scandal, $20,000,000 coaches extension, on campus doctor molesting students, what else can go wrong? Giving kids diplomas that do not attend classes. I am embarrassed to say I got my degree at USC. The golden years are over for USC and now we got to rebuild our image. Wins some football games and we must beat Ucla and people will forget about all the mishaps.
