Man too many grown ass men complaining and crying about recruiting, transfers, blaaaa blaaaaa. Every years different teams get better or get better players and do good, and every year when that happens the teams that where good start hating, talking smack and trying to discredit teams. All the years Arroyo did good and recruited it was ok with them, and when Arroyo scheduled week teams to play they always justified it. Now that it El Montes time to shine, now people are pointing out thing that where ok for Arroyo. Just let the boys play and stop trying to reminisce or relive your old high school days. A lot of these coaches are giving some of these boys better opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t have. I don’t have kids playing in this city but I look forward to seeing both Booth and Reyes playing and El monte do good. Arroyo its just the changing of the guard man don’t worry you guys will get it back, everyone had to put up with all your bragging when you guys did well, let others enjoy the ride too.

Coach Ceniceros can’t coach huh! Well numbers don’t lie, I bet his number are better then yours! He must be doing something right to make the playoffs 12 out of years of being a head coach, recruiting, what’s he have to offer a free education at a public school or schools because he’s been at a few schools….lol SMH

Hello, thanks for the comment. I think the gap between EM and Arroyo is a little wider with Booth, Montoya, Cueva and Reyes. But Arroyo will always be coached up and tough.

Fired? Come on. Ppl just scared You sound like a EM staffer with Ligma.
Its all good I never disrespected anyone there and only stood up for my neighborhood I grew up in. It’s all good I wish EM football and the rest of the school the best.

As for Coach C not being able to coach he’s got talent and made talent. We’ve made football players at EM the last 3 years following coach c and what he’s taught me and Gee over the last 6/7 years. My loyalty lies with coach c for giving me my first real opportunity to coach.

Rodrigo Sanchez – from soccer player to Suburan League 2x lineman of the year, Dillon Faamatau – no football to starter at Oklahoma.
    DeCreh West – 20 carries 100 yards as a jr to 1900 yds 20tds under coach c.
Willie Morris – played in 4 games as a Soph, JR yr 7 into and Sr year 800 yards rushing 800 yards receiving now at New Mexico Highlands.
Manuel Avina – band to Tennessee Tech.
Abel Ochoa – OL soph yr to all CIF DE and over 1k yards rushing and 10TDs on O jr/Sr.
Abel Cueva – on 1-9 freshman team as WR now a 2x 1k rusher with over 30TDs currently a senior.
Alvarez twins – called cupcakes and we couldn’t defend them with that by senior year had multiple D1 schools looking currently collegiate football players.

Yeah coach c has got blessed with Penny’s but if you don’t know EJ was gonna quit coach went and got him and he came became one of the hardest workers and is on NYG.

Booth didn’t play a high school game till EM.

Sorry for the long post. Just throwing some stats out there.

I got bofa for you too…

First of all curious George needs to stop talking. You are no longer coaching football at EM you got fired along with another couple coaches. Booth is good but by no means one of the best backs in the country come on if he was that good they would have won CIF last year. EM will have a good year and let’s just let the season play out. Arroyo will be Arroyo and those coaches will be prepared this season to play EM. It should be a great game with EM coming out victorious. Good luck to all MVL teams but EM coaches please stop coming on here and running your mouth. We all know Coach C can’t coach but he can recruit so lets leave it at that. EM 28 Arroyo 24.

Awwww I love seeing you get rattled. Who’s saying it doesn’t count guy? I’m saying when you have so many cupcakes why not schedule up. Scheduling two tough games a year isn’t it. You’re not in the SEC. You’re in the MVL! Why would any MVL team, other than EM as of late, want to schedule up? They are all sub par squads.

The transfer express is going to be hard to stop. As long as Booth is happy and healthy I don’t see anyone in the MVL stopping him. I say EM over Arroyo 35-28.

Good old anonymous comes to grace up her opinions. Sooooo the Hart doesn’t count? What a stupid thing to say. And yeah they beat us but we did schedule the game we played the game and we hung with D3 team for 3 1/2 quarters. How about Covina? Monrovia Bonita even Schurr when Schurr was ontop name anyone in the MVL coming close to those type of games you clown! Come up with fresh takes and at least a new nickname for me your becoming irrelevant.

Gold, come on man I thought we’re right on point with your comments on EM sissy schedule until you said they beat Arroyo be the third quarter. While I agree EM should be favored, WE ARE GONNA WIN THAT GAME! Calling my shot now!

  7. August 1, 2019 - 9:42 am | Permalink

Ohhhhh now it’s hating? That’s the standard answer you Lions have. I’m rooting for EM, this could be a special team. However facts are facts this is a very very soft schedule. The lions will only be tested 1-2 times all year which will be good in that state column but these guys will pay for it come semis. I hope it doesn’t cost them but I believe it will… just like last year. I’ll repeat, the MVL is probably the weakest I’ve seen in the last decade. You have four games in which you’ll get zero resistance and the game will be over by halftime. Arroyo will put up a fight but they’re rebuilding ushering in a new QB. That will be over after 3. That’s why this soft almost cowardly schedule is so glaring. You can talk about “beat downs” pound your chest all you want but, no one is gonna remember a 50-0 win vs Gabrielino in October. When you factor transfers, low division placement and sheer talent this team will only be judged on winning CIF or not. C is doing these kids a horrible disservice by scheduling this cowardly line up. But hey like I said stats will lit!

Hahahaha how did I know Get Back Coach would mention the Hart game?! That was back in 2016 guy! Back then it didn’t matter because you basically had bye weeks half of preseason and all of league play. Playing one tough opponent doesn’t mean you schedule up. And Hart laid off you clowns at halftime. It was a tune up for them. At the time Marshall, Gab, EM, and MV were all terrible. Why not schedule up and drop TC or Rowland? So blah blah somewhere else. Schedule a San Dimas or Charter Oak and you’ll shut us up.

Definitely blah blah for EM. Yeah we get it. When it comes to the MVL you guys are the elite but wouldn’t you rather prove it on the field and beat a big dog? Guys like “best RB in the nation” don’t always come around EM. Why not show what you are made of? Stop beating up on the little guys.

Haters will hate! at the end of the day. Where were these comments about “soft scheduling” when big Monte put a beating on the “powerhouse” arroyo and that S.E.M team who should have beat arroyo as well. The double wing offense isn’t rocket science but arroyo sure did struggle to shut it down. Schedule the “big schools” to challenge the team but when it comes to league have an answer for what lion country will put on the table.

I guess you forgot when we scheduled D3 Hart… whilst in D12! Arroyo has show the ummpsh to step up and play. So all that talk is just blah blah.
EM is the chicken here. Glenn? Glenn? Lmfao sotomayor? Come on man call it like you see it.

Wow, you are giving props to a team that had 3 of the 4 teams on their preseason schedule and made that schedule when they were in a much higher division.he 5th game they loss Marshall in league. Arroyo was Div 8 last year. Bonita was in a lower division, and they beat Arroyo. And this is the second year of their contract. If Bonita does them in again do they keep Arroyo? I say no, unless they need an easier schedule for the next 2 years. They also had Schurr and Nogales. Schurr is in their Division which is 11, yet lower than them and the team they picked up that year Nogales is in 3 division lower than the Knights Division13. Temple City who they dropped last year is actually the highest ranked team in Division 13. Rio Hondo Prep is in the Middle of Division 12. Monrovia is in the bottom 3rd of Division 9. Then again all the teams in the MVL have to get a harder schedules because there is no Marshall anymore. If your team plays 2 teams 2-3 divisions higher out of 5 games in pre-season then you are scheduling up. If not, then just keep your mouth shut .because it looks like you are setting yourselves up for excuses when you get punched.

Monrovia and Bonita are great opponents. Schurr is usually decent but not great. Nogales sucks (compared to you guys). RHP won’t last. Game will be over by halftime. Why not schedule another big dog and drop one of the little guys? I think Jim would rather be a big fish in a small pond that schedule up.

  13. July 27, 2019 - 9:40 pm | Permalink

You guys are calling for Arroyo to play Charter Oak? Screw it while were at it shall we call Amat as well? Monrovia is great step up for us. Bonita and RHP will be tough games as well Schurr is always tough and I’m hearing Nogales is much improved. I like our schedule.

    Hey Curious George,
The fact that CIF doesn’t reward you doesn’t mean it’s best to schedule cream puffs. No wonder you guys put up those numbers! Not only weak schedule but also 9 guys transferring in? Come on step up or shut up. All that talk about grounding and pounding it’s easy to pound your chest Vs Glenn or SotoMayor Fragile Rock your stats mean zilch in my opinion. Revenge is coming! Soooon!

I wouldn’t look down on RHP. Arcadia did a few years ago and got smacked with a score like 10-45.

  15. July 27, 2019 - 12:57 am | Permalink

Well that explains it. Big George said it. CIF doesn’t reward you is the logic. EM is gonna win league and is gonna be a high seed. What EM will not gain is competitive competition but 1 or 2 times this year. Thus, inexperienced and ill prepared. They won’t see true competition til the semis and who knows a team might jump out In front by 28 again. I hope not, I’m rooting for EM but I just gotta shake my head at the soft scheduling. A big time RB in a run offense what’s the fear here? Challenge your boys, they can do it Curious George, Coach C
Steel sharpens steel! I will agree Charter Oak stomps Arroyo by 30 after 1 and a half quarters. How ever Arroyo is playing up a couple times which is way more than I can say for EM. SOFT!

1: You need to be battle tested to win CIF. How many teams have we seen not hit any speed bumps during the season and flop in the playoffs due to a soft schedule? 2: On a point of pride! You claim to be this well oiled, ground and pound machine so show everyone what you are. Go out and play a big dog.

Arroyo took a step in the right direction with Monrovia. I know they would get destroyed by the big dogs. The Trib loves to rank them tops in the valley year in and year out but I know they can’t hang with the big boys. I would love to find out. Do it Arroyo schedule a local powerhouse!

Why step up? CIF doesn’t reward you. You need the wins and just win league is all. Its about seeding and you don’t want loses because CIF will not reward you. Look at Dranch. Heck they might go 0-5 and it might not necessarily help them.

Also, Charter Oak would Murder Arroyo lol.

  18. July 26, 2019 - 12:13 pm | Permalink

Anonymous good points. EM is making a huge mistake by playing such a soft pre season. MVL is probably the weakest as I’ve ever seen it right now. So challenging the troops in the preseason is the only chance they’ll get. They blow out SM, they Blow out Eagle Rock and IF Orange has its same guys that’s a good game but that’s 1 or 2 maybe three times in the season that you’ll be competitive! Not a good recipe for success. It’s SOFT! They might have three backs with 2,000 yards with this schedule.

Arroyo schedule CO, SD or Arcadia come on they’re a real good program those are always next level schools. They’ll do good with the schedule they got. A couple tough games and some games to get ready for season. Same goes to EM, Booth is one of the best backs in the country I’ve seen next level kids and he’s next level the team gots ER, OV and SM who should be good games and two games to get ready for league don’t count out Glen though they’re doing things there after going 6-5 last year.

  20. July 25, 2019 - 4:33 pm | Permalink

El Monte clear and away favorites to win league. But that weak schedule will hinder a deep run. They have no business playing Sotomayor or Glenn, Eagle Rock is city league which Is JV to CIF. San Marino will be very down this year and Who knows with Orange Vista, as quickly as the recruits came they can just as easily have left. Soft scheduling. But hey the stats will be there and that’s what matters right.

Arroyo good step up games in Monrovia and Bonita Nogales ehh with Schurr who knows these days. Rio Hondo prep is interesting could be a tough game but more than likely it’s over by halftime. One more step up game would’ve been nice. But it’s better than EMHS.

SEM I like the balance here. You have step up game vs Covina and Pasadena Poly then equal games vs Alhambra and Nogales. The one cupcake is La Canada.

Rosemead- Like the local battles here. Good match up vs SG and Schurr and LP. Not sure about the other two.

Mountain View- What can you say. When you’re Mt View you can’t play down.

    Gabrielino- see above same response

Dang looks like Arroyo grew some you know what. Glad to see Monrovia in there. Who wants to see them beat up on Rowland or South Pas? They need to drop Nogales or RHP and schedule another big dog in the valley like Charter Oak or San Dimas or even Arcadia. The paper always has Arroyo tops in the valley.

What’s with EM’s two soft opponents? I thought they were the mighty ground and pound? They’ll win 2/3 from OV, ER and SM. Padding stats or scared to get hurt? Schedule a big dog! One of the ones I mentioned above. Why not challenge your kids and the coaching staff? Isn’t “one of the best players in the country” back? I would love to see him against the big dogs. Him running circles around the poor kids at Gab or MV isn’t fun.
