(Monrovia) – Monrovia and Northview knocked heads Friday night in a scrimmage on the Wildcats home field.
There were several hard hits, nice throws and big runs but in the end it was just a tune up for both teams as they get ready to kick it off for keeps next week. Monrovia opens at West Covina next Friday night while Northview hosts El Rancho Thursday night at Covina District Field. Here’s a few shots.
Lets forget about the scrimmage. They both are 1-0. The season is on way and we can sit back and watch them make their run. Go CATS and Viking!
@J.Cole: So you have to strap it on in scrimmages to prove they mean something? That must be why most coaches do not play their key guys in scrimmages or even keep score. A scrimmage is more like lining up in first grade to see if the class can walk in single file.
Nice pictures TP
You want to know how I know Tim never played football?… he believes scrimmages mean nothing.
From T. Peterson: What do they mean to you exactly? You love my pictures though right? Ha Ha!
I don’t know Tim there was a lot of Collisions in the scrimmage and they weren’t laid out by Northview all Monrovia. Didn’t kill them per say but they definitely felt them the next day. See you guys in West Co Friday
Hahaha… Northview got punked?🤦🏽♂️ I guess that scrimmage was Monrovias CIF championship.
Seeing Monrovia a area power is always fun. Hopefully they could get back to that soon.
Monrovia played 6 games against non-league teams that were only so-so type programs. They could only win one against Valley Christian a -27 Cal Preps rated team. Rio Hondo League no bueno.
Weird how Monrovia punks everybody in the summer but once the pads come on the wildcats turn into the kitty cats.
Heard Northview got punked
From T. Peterson: I was there and I didn’t see that. Plus it’s a scrimmage. Meaningless.
