2. Anthony Davis scored 32 points and LeBron James had 29 to lead the Lakers to a 114-112 win over the Boston Celtics Sunday at Staples Center.
3. The Lakers signed forward Markieff Morris and waived DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins.
4. In the XFL the LA Wildcats beat the DC Defenders 39-9 for their first victory of the year.
5. Colorado named former UCLA HC and Miami Dolphins assistant Karl Dorrell as its new head coach.
6. Kicker Mason Crosby stayed with the Green Bay Packers signing a three-year, $12.9 million deal.
7. St. Francis vs. Santa Clarita Christian, CIF Division 2AA Boys Basketball Final, Saturday 12:00 noon at Azusa Pacific’s Felix Event Center.
8. UCLA is now 10-5 in the Pac 12 after an 80-73 win over Colorado Saturday. The Bruins are in a three-way tie for second place in the conference with Colorado and Oregon. Arizona State is first at 10-4.
9. Mookie Betts made his debut with the Dodgers Sunday and went 0 for 2 with a sacrifice fly in a 4-2 win over the Chicago Cubs.
10. Former Dodger first baseman/ Hall of Famer Eddie Murray turns 64 today.
Kobe and his daughter, Gianna, left us way too early, but they both accomplished a great deal in the short time that they had. May they rest in peace.
