(Chino) – Josh Knight has been named the head football coach at Don Lugo he confirmed Monday. It’s pending board approval.
Knight has previously been an assistant coach at Arroyo and Baldwin Park and was also the Athletic Director at Baldwin Park. Knight’s son Drew Knight was the quarterback at Baldwin Park where he just completed his senior season.
“We should have a great staff and the team will be a work in progress. But we have a lot of potential,” Knight said.
Knight takes over for Rick Finch who was at the helm for just one season. The Conquistadores were 2-8 overall last year and 0-3 in the San Antonio League.
Drew graduates this spring , no more eligibility. I guess this means he goes to Don Lugo as QB coach/ OC
Still , I’m not sure how much the “ winking attitude” will do to improve squad’s performance.
What about Whittier High School Head Caoch?
Ibis going too?
is he taking little coach Rumpelstiltskin with him? I bet BP is relieved to hear that! that lil troll needs to disappear under the bridge and stay there. Also. How does that work with his son transferring. does the rule not apply to them because Hes his dad? following coaches to new school.
Mike, Josh Knight did exactly what for the kids in Baldwin Park?
With this hire, let’s hope coaching egos do not contaminate the players and season expectations.
With a positive attitude about winking, what if he winks when he should have been paying attention?
The question is will he bring his infamous”recruiting” coordinator from BP?
Josh has plenty of experience around proven head coaches. Josh will bring a winking attitude and great structure to this program that has needed it for sometime. Great hire here.
The biggest question mark that hangs over this hire is: does Knight have head coaching experience? If not, we may be looking at another one-year flame-out.
