  1. Top 5 picks in the NFL draft: 1. Carolina – Bryce Young, QB, Alabama 2. Houston – C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State 3. Houston – Will Anderson Jr., LB, Alabama 4. Indianapolis – Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida 5. Seattle -Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois. 
  2. The Houston Texans traded a first-round pick and a second-round pick in the 2023 draft, and a first and third round pick in 2024 to the Arizona Cardinals to take Will Anderson Jr. with the third pick overall. 
  3. Baseball: San Dimas beat Charter Oak 4-3 Thursday for the second time this week. 
  4. The Lakers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 116-99 Wednesday night in Game 5 of their Western Conference playoff series. The Lakers still lead the series 3-2. 
  5. Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, who some projected as a top 5 pick, was not selected in the first round of the NFL draft.  
  6. The Baltimore Ravens reached an agreement with quarterback Lamar Jackson on a five-year, $260 million deal making Jackson the highest paid player in the league. 
  7. The Dodgers lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-2 Thursday to fall back to .500 at 13-13. 
  8.  The Miami Heat beat the Milwaukee Bucks 128-126 in overtime Wednesday night to wrap up their Eastern Conference playoff series in five games. 
  9. Drew Maggie, 33, made his Major League debut for the Pirates Wednesday night after 13 years and 1,155 games in the minors. He struck out in his lone at bat as a pinch hitter. 
  10. The Oakland A’s are currently the worst team in baseball at 5-21. 
This guy was the number one pick in the NFL draft.

    Is Oakland still trying Money Ball? The A’s couldn’t fill Oakland Colesseum if they paid people to go.

    I saw Bryce Young play against St. Francis several years ago, and felt then and there that professional ball was in his future. Best of luck to this guy.
