  1. The Angels have reportedly pulled Shohei Ohtani off of the trade market. 
  2. Shohei Ohtani became the first player in major league history to throw a shutout in one game of a doubleheader and hit a home run (he hit two) in the other Thursday as the Angels swept the Detroit Tigers in the two games 6-0 and 11-4. 
  3. The Dodgers acquired IF/OF Amed Rosario from the Cleveland Guardians Wednesday for right-hander Noah Syndergaard. 
  4. Colorado is leaving the Pac-12 and will return to the Big 12 in 2024. 
  5. The Angels acquired right-hander Lucas Giolito and reliever Reynaldo Lopez from the Chicago White Sox for two minor leaguers Wednesday. 
  6. Former Pasadena wide receiver Armon Binns is the new wide receivers coach at Northwestern. 
  7. In a MVS Twitter Poll – “Who wins this Zero Week matchup?” Results: 107 votes – Bonita 80% Monrovia 20%. 
  8. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off the practice field Thursday with an injury to his right calf. 
  9. Bronny James was discharged from the hospital Thursday following cardiac arrest Monday while practicing at USC. He will continue to be evaluated and doctors are encouraged by his response and progress. 
  10. Miami Dolphins cornerback, former Ram, Jalen Ramsey will undergo surgery on the menicus in his left knee and is expected to miss the start of the regular season.

    If you owned an NBA team, would you spend a high draft pick on Bronny James? Most likely scenario is that this kid gets a 10-day contract with the Lakers just to fulfill LeBron’s dream, and then he’s got to do something else. What else? Maybe go to medical school and become a cardiologist.
