- The Dodgers acquired right-hander Lance Lynn and RH reliever Joe Kelly from the Chicago White Sox for two Double-A pitchers and outfielder Trayce Thompson.

- Former Pro Bowl New Orleans Saints guard Trai Turner, who just signed this week, tore his quadriceps and will miss the entire 2023 season.
- Baldwin Park’s football schedule for this season has been updated and the Braves now have four Thursday night games.
- The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Max Scherzer from the New York Mets for minor league infielder Luisangel Acuna who is the younger brother of Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr.
- Terence “Bud” Crawford scored a ninth-round TKO over Errol Spence Jr. to capture the undisputed welterweight championship Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Crawford is now 40-0 with 31 knockouts. Spence was 28-0 coming in.
- John Mozeliak, president of baseball operations for the St. Louis Cardinals, said the club is not trading third baseman Nolan Arenado.
- The Dodgers lost to the Cincinnati Reds 9-0 Sunday and lost two out of three in the series.
