  5. The Baltimore Orioles have the best record in the American League at 74-47.
  6. The LA Galaxy is second from last in the Western Conference with a record of 5 W 7 D 10 L.

  8. With a 1-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Thursday night, the Dodgers have won 11 consecutive games. 
  9. On this date in 2016 Jamaica’s Usain Bolt won the gold medal in the men’s 200m for the third consecutive Summer Olympics recording a time of 19.78 in Rio de Janeiro. 
  10. On this date in 1982 the longest game ever played ended at Wrigley Field as the Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 2-1 in 22 innings. The game started on August 17th.
