  1. The New York Jets hired former Detroit Lions DC Aaron Glenn as their new head coach. 
  2. The Las Vegas Raiders hired Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant GM John Spytek as their new general manager. 
  3. The Jacksonville Jaguars fired GM Trent Baalke Wednesday. 
  4. The Arcadia Boys basketball team, after scoring just 35 points last Thursday night in a win over Burbank, beat Hoover 82-45 Tuesday night. 
  5. Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden is returning to the Cincinnati Bengals as their DC.
  6. The Miami Heat suspended forward Jimmy Butler for two games for missing a team flight. This was the second incident for Butler in the last two weeks. He just returned last Friday from a seven-game team suspension for multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team.   
  7. Hoover has hired Jordan Ward as its new head football coach.
  8. The Atlanta Braves signed outfielder Jurickson Profar to a three-year, $42 million deal. Profar hit .280 with 24 home runs and 85 RBIs last year with the San Diego Padres. 
  9. The Angels signed two-time All-Star and former Chicago White Sox/Miami Marlins shortstop Tim Anderson to a minor league contract. 
  10. Sunday Conference Championships: NFC-Washington at Philadelphia, 12:00 p.m. FOX; AFC-Buffalo at Kansas City, 3:30 p.m. CBS.

    The Raiders have reached an agreement to hire Pete Carroll as their HC. Word is, Mark Davis and company were mightily impressed with this 73-year-old’s energy and enthusiasm. My God, this guy’s going to be an excited little kid until the day he dies!
