By Tim Peterson (Whittier) – Whittier outscored San Dimas 28-6 in the second half to overcome a 13 point deficit and beat the Saints 35-26 Thursday night at Pioneer High School.

By Tim Peterson (San Dimas) – San Dimas head coach Mark Holman urged his troops to “throw the first punch” in his pre-game speech. The Saints did that early and eventually threw the knockout blow in a 49-14 rout of Whittier Friday night.

New Start for Schurr

(Montebello) – Schurr is looking to rebound from a 3-7 2011 season in which they missed the playoffs. And the Spartans will be doing it with a new head coach. Marco Ramirez isn’t new to the program after spending the last several years on the Spartan staff. But he is new as the head man replacing the retired Ben Negrete.
