All of the top teams won this week. In fact the top 13 remained status quo. Nobody will touch Monrovia in the Rio Hondo, or Azusa in the Montview.
Defense Finishes it for Maranatha (See Joel Murphy Interview)
(Glendale) – Usually Maranatha wins it with a high powered offense. Saturday night it was the defense that finished the job in a 34-20 win over Village Christian in Olympic League action at Glendale High.
It’s a Bell Gardens Party; 37-35
(San Gabriel) – Josh Adame threw three touchdown passes and ran for another as Bell Gardens held off San Gabriel 37-35 Friday night in a key Almont League clash.
Thomas Terrific for Northview
(Covina District Field) – Marquise Thomas ran for 181 yards and three touchdowns to lead Northview to a 41-14 rout of Nogales Thursday night in Valle Vista League action.
Hooray for Herrera; Gladstone Prevails
By Corey Kwok (Citrus College) – Joseph Herrera had 20 carries for 131 yards and two scores to lead Gladstone to a 21-6 victory over Bassett in Montview League play Thursday night.
