Grigg is Great for La Canada

By Corey Kwok (Pasadena) Downtown specialist Jeff Grigg hit 4 of 5 from beyond the arc in the first quarter and La Canada went on to beat La Salle 60-50 Saturday night on the Lancers home floor. Grigg had 18 points overall (all threes) to spark the Spartans.

Montebello Captures La Salle/Temple City Tournament

(Pasadena) – Montebello raced out to a 33-6 halftime advantage then withstood a furious St. Francis rally to beat the Golden Knights 62-52 and win the La Salle/Temple City Holiday Classic Wednesday night at La Salle High School.    

The Peterson Principle 12/30/09

  I finally got out to see some high school basketball this week. The annual Temple City – La Salle Holiday Classic is always a good place to start. There were some good players, solid teams and competitive games. I’m not sure why but the transition from football seemed tougher this year.  

St. Francis Weathers Ram Storm

(Temple City) – Temple City gave St. Francis all it wanted but the Golden Knights had enough to escape with a 63-56 win Monday night at the Temple City- La Salle Holiday Classic.  

La Salle Edges Paraclete

By Corey Kwok (Pasadena) – La Salle rallied from a six point deficit to go ahead 56-54 on a Matt Nolan 3 pointer to cap an 8-0 run with 22.6 seconds to play. The Lancers then held on to beat Paraclete 56-55 Saturday in the first round of the Temple City/La Salle Tournament.

La Salle/Temple City Holiday Classic

Knights are Golden against Alhambra (Temple City) – St. Francis rained a dozen three balls down on Alhambra Saturday in a 78-56 rout of the Moors in the first round of the Temple City-La Salle Holiday Classic.
