Schurr Wins Ugly, 42-0

By Rich Whittington (Montebello) – The Schurr Spartans improved to 8-1 Friday evening, defeating the visiting Montebello Oilers, 42-0, in the annual “Pride of the City” game on Ken Davis Field at Schurr High School.

Cats Hang On; Still Alive in Rio

By Tim Peterson (Monrovia) – Monrovia built a 21-0 halftime lead and then had to hang on in the fourth quarter to beat La Canada 28-21 Thursday night in a key Rio Hondo League battle.

Mid Valley High School Football Top 12

Not much movement as everybody in the Top 12 won this week. Damien continues to come up with impressive victories over quality teams. Bonita, Northview, and La Canada are all undefeated. Muir and Rio Hondo Prep are going to be very tough outs in the post season.
