South Hills Runs Roughshod in Opener

By Tim Peterson (Baldwin Park) – South Hills racked up 372 yards on the ground and ran over Baldwin Park 52-29 Friday night on the Braves home field. The Huskies had two players with over 100 yards rushing and all seven of their touchdowns were on the ground.

Gonzalez Covina — Charter Oak’s Corin Berry charged his way to a four-touchdown performance Friday night against Canyon at Lou Farrar Field by throwing three touchdown passes and adding a rushing touchdown in the first half, powering his team to a 44-6 win over the Cowboys to start the 2024 campaign.

Lions Have Devils Seeing Red, 47-7

By Rich Whittington (El Monte) The El Monte Lions opened their 2024 football season on a high note, defeating the visiting Pomona Red Devils, 47-7, in front of a very appreciative home crowd Friday evening at El Monte’s own Lions’ Stadium.

Victory For Spartans…Lancers Offense Slow to Start

By Duane Barker (Whittier, CA) The Damien Spartans traveled south to Cal High’s Sandra Sanchez Thorstenson Stadium Thursday night to take on the La Serna Lancers in the first game of the 2024 season for both teams. The Spartans were victorious in last year’s meeting and repeated their accomplishment with a 42-21 victory.
