Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

Unitas? Quarterback name…Montana? Quarterback name…Starr? Quarterback name…Staubach? Quarterback name…Elway? Quarterback name…Bradshaw? Quarterback name…Gabbert?…Gabbert?…Gabbert?

Sorry, this is why I wouldn’t draft Blaine Gabbert… A great quarterback needs a great name…

Note to NewRam: If Chris Reed gets a chance to grind behind a solid, and well sized, offensive line it could be a pretty good year in the Home of the Camelias. I’m also on record during the Tuesday night show as saying I believe an upset of M-Town, though not likely, is possible.

I think the rest of the concern for the Rio Hondo League is not to overlook each other. Dan Yoder is rebuilding but he’s made the playoffs in his first two seasons, energy is high at South Pasadena, and San Marino is advancing a bunch of tallent from the lower levels to its program. The RHL could be really interesting.

***

Not a Ryan Mallet guy…His session with Jon Gruden was painful…

***

Note to Doug Stevens: Hey I went to a golf event…but you were in Chicago? Nice.

Danny Rios offered me a free round…but I figured I’d save my game for you…

***

San Gabriel has put an APB out on Norwalk.

***

You can leave the room when Jerry Sands comes to the plate…you can leave the room when Andre Ethier comes to the plate…but you NEVER leave the room when Matt Kemp comes to the plate…Especially not this year.

***

Lakers in seven over the Hornets…if not I’ll go with the Hornets…

***

No truth to the rumor that exiled Dodgers owner Frank McCourt will be doing the next JG Wentworth commercial… “877 CASH NOW!”

***

We were thinking about what would make a good cash cow for Mid Valley Sports…and we thought about football this and football that…Then it came to us…a Cougar Calendar featuring “The Suave One”

***

Steven Rivera has been the starting quarterback for so long at Arroyo does anybody remember who he replaced for the Knights?

***

The Easter story is a great example of someone needed to see it to believe it (See Doubting Thomas)…but the same has held true in the case of former Northview tailback Kameron Germany.

When news broke a few weeks ago that Germany had made the roster at USC many weren’t buying, but now that he actually had a couple of carries in the Trojans spring game on Saturday it has become a fast and real fact.

***

Somehow I think New York Knicks management had something in mind other than a 4-0 sweep by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs when they traded for Carmelo Anthony.

I like Anthony’s game, but if anything was proven this season it was Anthony is very mortal.

***

Last Add Arroyo: The Knights Hunter Duran might have the best hair of a Mission Valley League wide receiver since El Monte’s Robert Panniagua (2005-2008)…

***

If Dwight Howard wants to make it to “Dancing With The Stars”, he better do something about being down 3-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs. Not too good Chief…

***

Looking forward to seeing Burbank throw the ball next Saturday.

***

Go Blackhawks…

***

Stay thirsty my friends…
