1.) La Serna’s football roster listed 73 players at the end of the 2013 season. Twenty-three of those players are graduating. The Lancers scored 76 total touchdowns last fall, 40 of those scores leave with the departing seniors.

2.) Arizona’s Nick Johnson, after being scoreless all night, scores 15 points in the final 2:45 to lead the Wildcats past San Diego State 70-64 last night to reach the Elite Eight.

4.) Knowshon Moreno, leaves Denver, signs one year deal to play running back for the Miami Dolphins.

5.) Bassett (junior-to-be) linebacker Jorge Blanco’s 2013 stats: 116 tackles, 4 passes defensed, 1 interception, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble.

6.) On this day in 1977 Marquette beat North Carolina 67-59 to win the NCAA championship. The Golden Eagles, who were coached by Al McGuire, won their first ever title, and until this day it remains their only championship.
