1.  The L.A. Kings win a record third straight seventh game beating the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 in overtime and earn a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals.

2.  605 High School All Star football game Friday night at 6:00 pm at Cerritos College.

3.  Happy Birthday to former Mid Valley staffer Juan Carlos “Wolfman” Salas.

4.  The Dodgers dropped three out of four to the Pirates and remain in second place 7.5 games back of the Giants.

5.  Former Miami Dolphin place kicker Garo Yepremian turns 70 today.

6.  John Elway’s son Jack is arrested and booked for assault and disturbing the peace early Saturday.

7.  The Mid Valley Sports team shot an even par 70 in the Jim Brownfield Memorial Golf Tournament.

8.  On this day in 1942 Ted Williams enlists as a U.S. Navy aviator.

9.  La Mirada will travel to Aliso Niguel in the Division II semi-final and Cal will host South Torrance in the Division IV semi-final of the CIF Baseball Playoffs.
