Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away. — Dinah Craik

Kick it!

Right off the Top: Oh, I’ve always been a Jimmy Rollins fan!

At my church we sing a worship song called “That’s Why We Praise Him”…Now you don’t have to be of my spiritual bent (and I’m not attempting to convert you to my spiritual bent; my celestial brownie points are where they need to be)…but there’s a line in the song that goes; “That’s why we praise Him, that’s why we sing. That’s why we offer Him our everything. That’s why we bow down and worship this king…”

I saw these father & son pics and I could not help but think and thank our Maker for moments like these. A lot of us have moments similar to this. The blessing of children, the blessing of means, the blessing to watch baseball in a place like Dodger Stadium, in a country like this…It is overwhelming. We are rich in His grace…and that’s among the many reasons that I praise Him.

Until you have a son of your own... you will never know the joy, the love beyond feeling that resonates in the heart of a father as he looks upon his son.--- Kent Nerburn

If the NCAA final was 36 minutes long we’d all be singing “On Wisconsin”…but those final four minutes will get you every time.

Note to California Angels fans (Did I say California?…And wouldn’t you prefer to be California as opposed to Los Angeles? How about just Anaheim?)…Is Jared Weaver still the guy?…I could be wrong, but I think you made a big mistake by extending this guy. That’s okay though, your team hardly ever overpays its talent. So once in a while you can whiff…

Do Oakland Raiders fans know former defensive coordinator Charlie Sumner, 84, past away on Monday? Do current Raider fans need a refresher on who Sumner was?
If they do, I’m driving cross country in May, I’d be happy to explain it to them. I’ll even pull over to show them their future home in St. Louis.

Happy for Ibis Aguilar.

Speaking of St. Louis: The oldest player on the Rams roster is Chris Long who stands in at a positively ancient 30 years of age.

So who do you like in the Del Rio next fall? Did you know that Santa Fe returns a pair of solid linemen in left tackle Alec Rodriguez (6-2. 285) and right guard Andrew Leon-guerrero (5-9, 265)…Only problem is El Rancho returns some studs as well…and of course La Serna is the Duke of the 605.

Regards:

In regards to Miguel Zarate Jr.: Can you leave shameless bandwagoning to the professionals? I say this with all respect, but Dude, you are out of your league when it comes bandwagoning.

In regards to soft spots: I have a real soft spot for pictures of kids with their parents at Dodger Stadium (obviously). If you send it to me, I will publish it here.

In regards to the Masters Golf Tournament: Have I missed it yet? I try really hard to avoid it every year, but like traffic on the 210 I inevitably get stuck.

In regards to the MLB Network: Yeah, that station is alright.

In regards to Yordano Ventura: Thumb cramp? Sounds like a “Brain Cloud” to me. Who gets a thumb cramp. I saw the play, so okay. But if I had not seen the play I would have thought it was something former Dodger outfielder Mike “General Soreness” Marshall might try to pull.
