1. Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is going to give baseball a try and plans to hold a workout as an outfielder for Major League Baseball teams later this month.

2. Former head football coach Bill Dooley, who piled up 162 wins at North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest passed away Tuesday at the age of 82. Dooley was the younger brother of former Georgia coach Vince Dooley.

3. Oklahoma City Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig.

4. Angels pitcher Tim Lincecum has accepted his minor league assignment and will report to triple -A Salt Lake.

5. Longtime ESPN Host John Saunders passed away at the age of 61 early Wednesday morning.

6. The U.S Men’s basketball team survives a scare and beats Australia 98-88 Wednesday. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 31 points.

7. Texas DH Prince Fielder, who was forced to retire Wednesday with a neck injury, will finish his career with the same amount of home runs as his dad Cecil Fielder – 319.

8. San Diego Chargers receiver Stevie Johnson will miss the 2016 season after surgery to repair a torn meniscus is his right knee.
