If Spathias and Staff did “nothing” then why did Los Altos go from a winning record with this staff and losing record with the next staff ???? All that talent @ LA but no coaching skills Seems to me like these guys are a legit staff they took a losing Workman team. A defeated team and brought the talent out of the kids and made them the winners they deserve to be

    SM dropped 60+ on EM.
Workman has that superior offense too.
Look at the numbers Udengwu & Odom have been putting all season. Now that all weapons are a go, no telling who can slow this offense down. Workman has scored TD’s on 90% of their drives thus far in the past 4 matchups.. Spathias & staff have this team clicking on full cylinders. Who’d thought Workman would be a top 2 team in the Montview?… This is what a great story!

Amazing! I think our West Covina Bulldogs are in the playoffs!
They have had a few games this year where they come out fired up, play hard, and look like a decent team. Last night was their best game, Los Altos beat both Charter Oak and Covina. I think both of those teams put 50 points on West Covina and had running clocks in the 4th quarter, how do you figure that one out?
WC came out fired up and was up 22 to 0 at the half, but LA made their adjustments and came out in the second half and had a chance to tied the game, but at the end of the game WC made a goal line stand with a defensive stop on 4rth down at their own 1 yard line. They had to punt after 3 plays and were the fortunate recipients of a ball that bounced off a Los Altos player, this let them run out the clock for the win.

For what it’s worth I let SC watch our game. I thought he would leave early, but he stayed well into the fourth quarter. Those two boys from Workman put on a show. It was just exciting to see that interest from a team in our league. When kids put up numbers like that, I guess it would be embarrassing if they let those kids get out of side offers.

Omg I’m with the Spartans and was disappointed with how they played.spirit and energy is the key to football everything else is physical i don’t know, oh and we need to change up the play’s it was to Telegraphed Ez to read specking from a football heart and player. Good if there’s a game 11 spartans.

The game was over in warmup. You really think that SD will will win D8 championship? San Dimas hasn’t got past the first round! Holman can’t win the big game!! like I said your opinions doesnt really matter. Maybe you need more illegal transfer or some of those Milkshakes you guys provide at San Dimas!!! Take care water boy have fun trying to beat Arcadia or any other team in the playoffs. Too bad you can’t play anymore of the D10 or D13 teams.

Did you really think you were going to score more than a touchdown or two? Our defense since it didn’t show up against SM has given up 12 points a game average. OV and Arroyo way better offenses than you got shut down.

Besides a few injuries the game against OV our offense hasn’t been stopped so there was no chance for you there either.

But hey you know where the express stops! Just saying!!!

Spathias? He did nothing. I’m just referencing how that whole league is trash, and Nogales, being the superior team in that league should’ve not allowed that to happen. Nogales had trouble towards the end of the season winning their last league games by a possession or less and now they lose. Y’all put up 60+ on SV, that’s great. SV is garbage and I don’t see how you guys allowed near 40. Let’s just go another route. The miramonte league head to head vs montview smacked around montview league teams.

We don’t know when the last time we won a championship. You know and I know that this stuff doesn’t happen with ordinary people. We were just happy that the administration got a person to coach our kids. My son could not go to practice all summer because he got a summer job and we lost some players to other school because we thought there was going to be no football at Workman this year. For most of the year we only dressed out 16 players. I know the coaches would not play the guys that missed practice and that hurt the team early in the season. But, my son told me that everybody comes to practice now and I think we feed over 30 players this week for team meal on Wednesday.
From just about not having a team to a championship, you can’t make this stuff up. Good luck boys in the playoffs and finish writing the good story.

@GrimReaper besides the fake punt, I thought SM dominated the second half as well. It seemed like both teams were able to make halftime adjustments and SM ended up just wearing the Mtown defense down with tough runs.

Did not get to see exactly how the fight went down, but seemed like it started on the XP that put SM up 34-21. Mtown players seemed to lose their cool and tried to take it out on the ensuing kickoff return.

@PhillyB looks like you were terribly wrong on both your predictions last night. Wish Mtown luck in the playoffs, hope they can do some damage.

Worst possible preparation possible. Hats off to El Monte high school I will now root for them from here on out. Our coaches need to go. Starting with out OC 7 points!!!! That came on the first snap of the game. Our Offensive Coordinator is absolutely terrible. All EM did was blitz and contain. This yahoo never made an adjustment. Seven points. Seven points! Gallardo if you’re back next season I hope it’s with a new OC. There’s no way you can return with this guy running our offense. Hate to say it but if Melendez is back, I’m transferring my son (junior) if you take away my view and gab we’ve averaged 1 score a game! Ridiculous horrendous! our defense played as bad as it has all season. Very disappointed this was a very good team with a lot of weapons no other way to look at but disappointing

Who would of thought the easiest game for El Monte in league would be South El Monte? Besides two missed tackles on the first play that got South a lead for about 15 seconds, South was dominated by the Lions. Even the JV team went in there got a stop and drove it down field refs felt sorry for them and threw one of those “I feel bad for you” flags that kept our JV out the end zone.

So hey ‘I Played For Coach Thompson” he should of coached you up better. This “Pop Warner” offense just ran the score up on you.

Well it looks like SM beat M by 13 points, seems my 10 point prediction was pretty good.

It would not have been that close other than a gadget fake punt by M late in the game on 4 and 4 from their own 20something or so. QB Hernandez disappeared in the second half.

Sadly with about 2 minutes left in the game after SM scored to ice the game, M returned the kickoff and showed a total lack of sportsmanship when they started a fight at the end of kickoff return. Many of their players left the bench to join in. 3 Monrovia players were ejected and will not be able to play in the playoff game. There should have been more M players ejected. They couldn’t win the game on the field, so M decided to win a fight on the field

Game officials were ineffective in breaking up the fight as about 8 monrovia players beat down one SM player. As players streamed off the M bench to reinforce.

And sadly it was reported that yesterday at a lower division SM V M game a similar thing happened. I was not there so I just rely what I was told. So the question is what is Morovia’s new coaching staff teaching their players at all levels.

After the “Dream Team” left this is what was left. As for you all…this is your “Dream team” that is senior heavy, it took Beltran 3 years to put that product out on the field of play. Ramos on the other hand beat you all in his first year at Schurr with a very young team and has owned bragging rights the following two seasons. Enjoy this one but believe me Schurr will be back…YOU KNOW!!

All I can say is wow! Northview has an incredible team. SD had to play a perfect game to have a chance, sadly it wasn’t even close. Our corners were like deers in headlights. I was able to congratulate Coach Perez at the end of the game and, as expected, a class act. I told him it would be cool if NV won division 7 and SD won div 8, he said “what a great idea.” What a great job he has done when losing a talent like comstock. I’m still proud of our SD boys for their effort but we just ran into a buzz saw.
