Culver City Wins at El Rancho

Arroyo fell to Culver City in the Semis. Culver City then beat South Hills in the Finals.

By Tim Peterson

(Pico Rivera) – Culver City won the El Rancho Tournament Saturday knocking off South Hills in the Finals.

Culver City beat Arroyo in the semi finals and South Hills knocked off Monrovia to advance. Interesting note: Culver City also beat Arroyo at the Crescenta Valley Tournament but that one was in the Finals.

Schurr took the Consolation Championship.

    Maybe local schools. But as the get up in divisions you need to be able to pull kids here and there

    @coach R,
    You guys were 5-5 and 4-1 in league tied for first. You guys lost to Gladstone. Before you got to Nogales the team was 10-2 the last two years. Yeah, don’t break your hand patting yourself on the back. I don’t see a bright future for Nogales.

    I am a firm believer the coaches that recruit can’t coach up their own players. Most schools have enough talent on campus to compete you just have to coach them up.

    What is a consultation Championship?
    From T. Peterson: In some tournaments a team that loses a game goes over to the consolation bracket and competes there. If they win out they can win the consolation championship which is what happened with Schurr. It’s pretty common actually in bigger passing league tournaments.

    I’m guessing whom ever administers MVS is having to censor most comments because the trash talk that used to be fun is gone. Now Aram is gone at the SGVN too. RIP blog.
    From T. Peterson: No haven’t had to edit any lately. The only ones I will delete is when they get personal or there are allegations that aren’t true.
