To say Gano has had a profound effect on Brown’s coaching style and man management appears an understatement. Let us just hope in the future the latter doesn’t allow his DC to call for a Cover 2 against a shotgun formation in the remaining seconds of a close game and while on the opposition’s 5 yd line or (if he ever assumes OC responsibilities again) to not call for a screen pass in succession through out the course of a game because it worked the first couple times (i.e., gambler’s fallacy). The recruiting, however, is fine.

I’m a BoHi fan. We need to be careful on the hype train. Bonita has literally played no one. Smudgepot will be closer than expected. Go Bearcats.

@CIF poll. I understand “sarcasm”, your explanation took the fun out of it. There are plenty of Pioneers in high school football. BTW, who would win division 153?

While we are hurting from the beat down we took from Pasadena our D153 boys deserve some credit for scheduling a team that is better than us. By the way what did you do Friday night? Write negative posts from moms she shed? Many supposed great teams schedule nothing but lesser teams. Anyway I’am a loyal Titan so shoot me.

I feel obligated to explain that the Pioneer comment is pure sarcasm. Somebody in that program is regularly coming on here to tell us about how Pioneer is “rising”, so I played on that theme in creating a mythical division 153. I also am making a swipe at commissioner Rob Wigod, the new-age, feel-good clod who keeps adding divisions…and in the process keeps watering-down the value of the associate championships.

I stand corrected…Bonita is indeed top dog in division 9, not D7, but I’ll tell you what: the bearcats would probably beat Northview. Steve Bogan is simply a tremendous coach.

Rapidly rising pioneer? They barely squeaked by la puente and south east (whoever that is). They got blanked 77-0 to Pasadena , granted it’s a step up game, but still blanked. I wouldn’t call them rapidly rising
From T. Peterson: You seriously didn’t catch the sarcasm there?

I think it’s wishful thinking but Bonita is #1 in division 9. Northview is in division 7 but surprisingly at #4.

@#3—La Serna coach Andy George has 3 playoff wins in 3 years and his praises are sung every season.. Margaritto Beltran while coaching La Serna the previous 3 years 2013-2015 had 9 playoff wins. Clearly La Serna going downhill. Plus LS acts as if Beltran was not the man that was at the helm. The man that started it all. He is La Serna’s Knute Rockne. The guy should be enshrined in the LS trophy case. But no he was and is belittled. He was fired with little explanation other than vague innuendo that never led any charge. Very odd. Until La Serna plays Warren this year the teams LS will have played will likely have a 1-17 combined 2019 record. Way to early to say La Serna is going to run through the playoffs. While 3 playoff wins in 3 years is very good for a SS high school like La Serna don’t look now but their is another school that has 3 playoff wins in the last 3 years in the Del Rio.

Division 5 has St. Paul at #7, which, given the Swordsmen’s dismal showing against Narbonne, raises a question mark.
Division 6 has La Serna at #3, which is about right, but shows the Lancers have a long way to go before anyone will mistake them for an elite program,.
Division 7 has Bonita at #1, and I believe that’s how the Bearcats are going to remain, all the way to the title. Hot on coach Bogan’s heels are the kids from Northview, who sit at #4 in this division.
Division 11 has an incredible local trio of El Rancho, Cal and Whittier….at #6, 7 and 8 respectively. Too bad they can’t all have an automatic playoff berth.
Division 13, for the second time in recent memory, has Alhambra posted at #1. Time will tell how much of an error this placement represents.
Not officially listed by CIF, but entirely deserving of a #1 ranking in division 153 are the rapidly rising Pioneer Titans.

The way New England got Brown almost matches the way owner Bobby Kraft dodged those solicitation charges…just brilliant.
