  1. Kevin Glaspy will be Covina’s fourth head football coach in the last six years. 
  2. World Cup Finals: Argentina vs. France, Sunday December 18.
  3. The San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks 21-13 on Thursday Night Football. 
  4. The New York Yankees signed left-handed starter Carlos Rodon to a six-year, $162 million deal. Rodon was 14-8 with an ERA of 2.88 last year with the San Francisco Giants. 
  5. Bobby Petrino, considered one of the brightest offensive minds in the game, will become the offensive coordinator at UNLV under new head coach Barry Odom. 
  6. The Dodgers signed right-hander Noah Syndergaard to a one-year deal. 
  7. The Brooklyn Nets were fined $25,000 for sitting eight players against the Indiana Pacers December 10. 
  8. The Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL at 12-1. 
  9. The Chargers, 7-6, the seventh seed in the AFC, will host the Tennessee Titans Sunday at SoFi Stadium. 
  10. Former UCLA/ Olympic women’s basketball coach Billie Moore passed away at the age of 79. Moore led UCLA to the AIAW national championship in 1978 and coached the Bruins from 1977-1993. She is UCLA’s winningest women’s basketball coach.

    One thing is clear, you are not seeing as many high school players announcing their college offers. The tranfer portals are loaded with experienced players in NCAA D1 so why give your schlarships to a unproven high school kid? Jusr grab some proven talent off the portal like USC and UCLA did and do. Tell your kid go to JC if he still wants to bang heads on the cheap but thats some tough football.

    We almost never hear about the brightest defensive minds in the game, but those are the guys who do the most to win big games. With the Utah game still firmly in mind, I don’t think Lincoln Riley would disagree.
