While a Player of the Year is one that has numbers that are too big to ignore and stats that are off the charts a Most Valuable Player is one that does so many things well that without him it would be difficult for his team to win. An MVP does a little bit of everything. He makes big plays on offense and dominates on defense. He’ll score a touchdown on one possession and make a tackle on a fourth down stop on the next. This year Bonita’s Noah Mikhail was that guy.

Hoover Consolation Champs

Temple City — On the final day of the Duarte/Temple City Holiday basketball tournament, the Hoover Tornados were crowned consolation champions Monday night at Temple City High School after they went on an 8-0 run to start the second half to come back and win 46-43 behind Justin Herrera’s 21 points and three assists.
