Moors End Season with 48-0 Win over Keppel
By Ron Vrooman (Alhambra) – The Alhambra Moors gave new head coach Mike Mackintosh his first on-the-field victory, shutting out the Mark Keppel Aztecs, 48-0, last Thursday night.
Downey Outlasts Mayfair to Win Gateway
By Tim Peterson (Downey) – Downey quarterback Oscar Rios scored on a 7-yard run with 3:56 left in the fourth quarter to give the Vikings an 11-point lead that turned out to be enough to hold off Mayfair 49-44 Friday night at Allen Layne Stadium. With the victory Downey claimed the Gateway League title.
South Captures MVL Crown
By Rich Whittington (El Monte) – The South El Monte Eagles claimed the Mission Valley League Title in perfect fashion Friday evening, defeating the host Arroyo Knights, 35-14, at Arroyo’s own B.L. Bergstrom Stadium.

Mid Valley High School Football Top 12
Charter Oak dropped to number 7 after getting routed by Bonita. The only other change was Schurr moving into the Top 12 with a big win over Montebello and an 8-1 record. La Canada fell out after a loss to Monrovia.

San Gabriel Reigns on Moors’ Homecoming Night

San Gabriel had taken its first step toward securing the football title for the Alhambra Unified School District by beating Mark Keppel, 33-10, a week earlier.
