High School football season ended last weekend with the crowning of Monrovia and West Covina as CIF Champions for the second straight year. All that’s left for them is the celebrations and parades.

Wildcats’ Title is Biased, 53-14

(Monrovia) – Monrovia rode the wave of a 39-0 run in the second half and the legs of Marquis Bias to a 53-14 rout of San Gabriel Saturday night to win the CIF Mid-Valley Division Title for the second straight year before a packed house at Monrovia High.

You would of have thought we were in Orange County or the Inland Empire or at one of the city schools last Thursday night. But no, we were right here in the San Gabriel Valley standing on the sidelines in Monrovia watching the Wildcats take on Glendora.

Wildcats Warm up in Second Half

(Monrovia) – Monrovia ran off 29 straight points after falling behind in the first half and went on to beat Glendora 29-16 Thursday night in its season opener. The Tartans, who lost last week to Charter Oak, dropped to 0-2.

The Peterson Principle 7/25/11

We’ve hit the dead period for several area high school football teams. Although there is no set dead period now with the new CIF rules in place most teams still go dark in late July and into early August.
