Why Not The View?

By George Hernandez [El Monte] – Mountain View named their new head coach, Paul Rodriguez former Viking defensive coordinator, this week. Could he be the guy to take the View to playoffs or have a winning record? Either one would be the first in 23 seasons.

Class of 2009 Wins Mt.View Alumni Game

(El Monte)- “Hey man we need some more love from you guys here,” said Mt. View HC Victor Ambruso before the Vikings second annual alumni game. “Just kidding, but we’re always reading about Arroyo but that’s okay we just want to keep things under the radar around here.”

Ok, so where are we at now? There have been so many head coaching changes in high school football this off season that it’s hard to keep track. Schurr, with former DC Marco Ramirez being promoted to head coach, was filled last weekend.

It started as soon as the season ended in mid November. Glendale Coach Al Eberhart stepped down and was eventually replaced by long time area assistant John Tuttle.

Vikings Chew up Yardage, Hoover

(Glendale) – Ignacio Castanada and Jose “Nacho” Zamora combined for 322 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead Mt. View to a 34-21 win over Hoover Thursday night at Glendale High.

We’ve hit the dead period for several area high school football teams. Although there is no set dead period now with the new CIF rules in place most teams still go dark in late July and into early August.
