How important is the ground game in the post season? We’ll find out when the first round kicks off Friday. Here’s a look at the players that will suit up in the playoffs who rushed for at least 1000 yards this season.

Our top 16 isn’t necessarily the same as the CIF top 16. They like Azusa as the top seed, we like Monrovia. They like Arroyo at number three while we have Azusa there with Whittier Christian at two. Hey, we both agreed on Covina at number four.

(La Verne) – Giomani Johnson ran for two touchdowns and Garrett Pendelton threw for another as Bonita belted Diamond Ranch 38-10 Friday night to sew up second place in the Hacienda League.

Saints Rout Wilson; Set Sights on Playoffs
(Hacienda Heights) – San Dimas racked up over 400 yards on the ground and Codee Watts threw a 57 yard touchdown pass as the Saints rolled to a 49-9 rout of Wilson Thursday night in the regular season finale.

Wow there’s something you don’t see everyday. In football it just doesn’t happen this way. If you can establish a running game and chew up yardage on the ground while eating up the clock, you’re going to win. Just ask any football coach.
